Sales Assistant (Full Time) – full training given – Salary based on experience
Due to continued business growth and higher trade levels, we have vacancies for Sales Assistants to join our team.
The key responsibilities of the Sales Assistant are:
To be able follow a set of instructions and produce materials to our high level of quality control
Ensuring the safe and accurate loading of customer orders.
Serving customers in the yard to ensure customer orders are fulfilled fully.
Accurately processing all forms of counter sales transactions; cash, cheque, credit & debit card, BACS payments & all account customer transactions using the correct documentation.
To liaise with other members of staff & our Technical Director to make sure that all technical queries are dealt with fully and that detailed specification support is provided at the appropriate level.
To assemble customer orders in the yard and production areas so that they are ready for uplift or collection by couriers / transport companies, which may require the use of a counterbalance forklift truck.
Ensuring all stock is safely stored and protected against the weather.
Check stock levels & advise when stocks are low so they can be re-ordered in time.
Serving customers at the sales counter in our shop, providing a very professional and friendly service for all face to face enquires telephone calls, e-mails, fax and letters.
Dealing with damages effectively and promptly.
Driving company vehicles safely to deliver customer orders or make site to site transfers.
Ensuring personal compliance with all Health and Safety obligations.
The key skills required to be successful in this role include:
Excellent communication skills and a friendly and helpful approach at all times.
Great customer service skills and the ability to manage task and time effectively in an often busy trade counter environment.
Holding a full clean driving licence.
Holding a Fork Lift Certificate.
An interest in buildings, architecture and/or conservation would be useful.
The suitable candidate must be prepared to work in a very physically challenging outdoor environment.
